From childhood, Azula believed her mother favored Zuko and thought her monstrous, which she admitted to be true but hurt her deeply. After she was betrayed by Mai and Ty Lee, her mental state gradually collapsed, as her attacks became far more vicious and she was seemingly obsessed with killing Zuko.
Azula didn’t go insane, she was going through a mental breakdown. Her breakdown was most likely caused by realizing that her father had betrayed her, not her friends. … When Mai and Ty Lee betray her, it plants a small seed in her head that her father might be lying to her. This is the beginning of her mental breakdown.
After her great achievements, Azula settled down and got married to a quite old nobleman named Yin Lee. She gave birth to two children, Chen and Mitsuki.
What happened to Mei and Zuko? … But Mei didn’t marry Zuko.
It’s unclear if Zuko ever learned to generate lightning since he never showcased the ability in Legend of Korra or in any of the comics. But given his power and growth, it’s certainly possible he learned it. Lightning generation became quite commonplace by the time of Legend of Korra’s story.
When Zuko admits to Team Avatar that he’s lost his Firebending due to his lack of rage, Toph (Jessie Flower) suggests that Zuko draw his power from a different source, possibly the original source of Firebending: the dragons.
