The contestants start with their original score from their first appearance, and then proceed to answer ten questions which are worth their ordinal values i.e. question 1 is worth one point, question 2 is worth two points and so on.
If you want to take part in PopMaster with Ken Bruce, email popmaster@bbc.co.uk with your name, contact number and three pop passions. If selected and called back you’ll be asked three questions to test your pop music knowledge, and to discover whether you’ll make a lively and interesting contestant.
The prize for winning PopMaster is a portable MP3 player. Winners, who successfully complete the “3 in 10” section of the competition, will receive a digital radio. The runner-up will receive a CD wallet. In all cases, there is no cash alternative and the prize is not transferable.

Scottish broadcaster Ken Bruce has announced he is taking a break from presenting The Ken Bruce Show on BBC Radio 2 to deal with a “minor medical matter” and have some time off. On Tuesday 28 January Bruce tweeted: “I’m going off for a little while now to sort out a minor medical matter and add on a short break.”
